Where I go in Golden Gate Estates
I cover the numbered Avenues, Everglades Boulevard, Oil Well Road and the lanes off Golden Gate Boulevard.
The drive
East on Golden Gate Boulevard and then out. Addresses this far out are the ones mapping apps get wrong most often, so when you call, give me a cross street and tell me which side the driveway is on. It saves more time than driving faster would.
Acreage, gates and outbuildings
Nothing here looks like a subdivision. Lots run to acres, the gate can sit a long way from the house, and most properties have something else that locks: a well house, a barn, a workshop, a detached garage. A good share of my Estates calls are not the front door at all.
It also means hardware sits outside in the weather far from any shelter, so I carry stock rather than promise to come back with a part.
What the Estates calls me for
Rekeys and outbuilding locks, plus gates. Very little automotive compared with the coast, and almost no commercial, because there is barely any out here.
The one part of my area that does not empty out
Unlike the beach towns, the Estates is full of year-round residents, so the work is steady through the summer instead of arriving in a rush every October.
