Commercial hardware fails differently from a house. It gets used hundreds of times a day and it has to stay code compliant, so when it stops working you usually cannot lock up and deal with it tomorrow.
Storefront and mortise hardware
Aluminium and glass doors take specific cylinders and latches, and the wrong part fitted to save time will fail again within months. I work on mortise locks, rim cylinders and storefront latches.
Door closers
A closer that slams, drags or leaves the door short of the latch is both a security problem and an accessibility one. Adjusting or replacing one is a short job that gets put off for years.

Card and fob readers for doors that need a record of who went through, or where handing out keys to staff has stopped being practical.
Master keying
One key for the manager, limited keys for everyone else. Worth setting up properly at the start, because retrofitting a master system onto mixed hardware costs more than planning it once.
